The Vmux-310 is a VoIP SIP analog gateway designed for commercial VoIP deployment. It provides superior voice technology for connecting legacy telephones (POTS), fax machines and PBX systems over IP-based telephony networks, as well as for integration with new IP-based PBX architectures.
The Vmux-310 complies with the Session Initiation Protocol (SIP). Acting as a bridge between the PSTN and the IP network, the Vmux-310 merges phone, fax services and PBX systems with the data network. In addition, new IP-based PBX systems can be integrated into the existing architecture. The Vmux-310 dynamically and efficiently controls bandwidth allocation, leaving more bandwidth for data transport. The Vmux-310 gives customers next generation services without requiring an overhaul of existing infrastructures.
Using standard G.729A, G.726 and G.723.1 compression algorithms with Voice Activity Detection and silence suppression, the Vmux-310 provides efficient bandwidth optimization, leaving more bandwidth for data transport. It optimizes voice transmission for satellite links, pay phone networks, and centralized IVR and Quality Monitoring applications. The unit can also be deployed in MTU (Multi-Tenant Units) broadband access networks, IP Centrex and rural applications.
