Protecting its citizens and saving lives are the main concerns of Fire-Disaster, Police and Public Defense personnel. In the
Kyonggi province of the Republic of South Korea, members of these departments carry out their jobs with the help of equipment from RAD Data Communications. Due to the reliability and flexibility of RAD's multiservice access platform (MAP), it has become the standard communications equipment used by these government agencies, which need to respond to situations in real-time.
Continuing Success
In 1997, RAD and its local distributor, MACRO SYSTEM, installed
DXC multiservice access nodes and
Megaplex multiplexers to transmit voice, video, fax and data among Public Defense posts situated along the border. Based on the success of that project, the Kyonggi municipal government ordered an additional $2 million in MAP equipment for its Fire-Disaster and Police networks. These last two projects, completed in 2000 and 2001, respectively, comprise approximately 150 sites.
