Financial Company Banks on RAD for Inter-Office Network

29th January 2007: Financial institutions are making significant savings by turning to RAD Data Communications to manage voice traffic over IP networks. RAD's Vmux-2100 and Vmux-110 equipment was recently used by a high profile merchant bank to migrate away from expensive TDM network voice calls to manage inter-office voice traffic over its core IP/MPLS network.
The bank was keen to remove a TDM network that was placing a heavy financial burden on communication between branches but didn't want to abandon its existing voice equipment.
After extensively testing the Vmux in the USA they deployed the Vmux solution. The Vmux remote site voice trunking gateway extends LAN and compressed voice services over TDM and IP networks - even where integration of legacy equipment is required. It provides the same levels of Internet, phone service and reliability of a traditional telephone network but at a much lower price, since you don't have to lease a costly business line.
The installation has proved so successful at delivering cost savings without sacrificing voice quality that it has now been used to connect more branches.

"Investment banks such as HSBC, Goldman Sachs, and commercial banks as well, can take advantage of this solution to significantly reduce their Opex," states Grant Notman, General Manager of RAD Data Communications Ltd. (UK). "RAD's Vmux solution guarantees a return on investment in as little as two-to-ten months," Notman adds.
