Integrating RAD ATM Access Products into Alcatel 5620 NMS

RAD’s Model Descriptors allow integration of selected RAD’s ATM access products into the Alcatel 5620 NMS system. The Alcatel 5620 NMS open architecture facilitates the integration of multi-vendor devices management. Using a descriptor, the service provider can manage provisioning of new nodes or modify and support existing ones.

The Alcatel 5620 NMS architecture facilitates the integration of multi-vendor device management. Employing Model Descriptors (MD), it can allow thirdparty SNMP network elements to be managed via the 5620 descriptor module, enabling end-to-end path management.

RAD Model Descriptors feature the following applications:

Navigate – facilitates auto-discovery and maps the node, slot, interface, and connection into the managed object hierarchy

Draw – displays a visual image of the managed device

Configure – provides forms to configure any object attributes in the managed device

Monitor – monitors and reports the status of the managed objects.

The RAD Model Descriptors extend the capabilities of the Alcatel 5620 NMS to manage RAD devices and provision end-to end services.
