Benefit from 2G/3G cellular backhaul aggregation over ATM using statistical multiplexing capabilities to improve backhaul performance and reduce transmission costs by simultaneously delivering 2G, 3G and future generations over ATM backbones
Our Solution
RAD’s ACE-3100 and ACE-3200 multiservice cell-site gateways and ACE-3400 and ACE-3402 aggregation site gateways connect cell-sites and controller sites to ATM backbones, over shared access lines. Featuring “any service any port” functionality, they incorporate flexible port configuration to allow grooming of full or fractional E1/T1 UNIs, several IMA links and DSL lines into a single IMA or STM-1/OC-3 network interface. This ensures the most economical allocation of backhauling resources and the delivery of multi-generation traffic over ATM networks. RAD’s RAN gateways leverage ATM’s inherent QoS attributes to enable service differentiation and traffic engineering, including prioritization, shaping and scheduling. In addition, they support ATM statistical multiplexing and allow operators to optimize network utilization by implementing overbooking strategies, thereby reducing service costs and operating expenditures (OpEx).
Benefits
• Support end-to-end traffic monitoring and QoS assurance
• Reduce CapEx through better utilization of existing ATM equipment, requiring fewer E1/T1 links
• Reduces OpEx by aggregating multiple services onto a single network interface
