PRI VoIP Gateway Router

The IPVgate-20P is a PRI VoIP gateway router for connecting primary rate interface (PRI) ISDN PBXs to Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) networks. The IPVgate-20P PRI VoIP gateway router enables service providers to offer high-quality, high-capacity SIP VoIP services, while enterprise users can lower expenses and take advantage of the converged voice and data communications over IP.

The carrier-grade IPVgate-20P PRI VoIP gateway router can connect an ISDN PRI port with 30 digital channels over any broadband access network, using SIP technology. Operating as a VoIP access gateway or VoIP trunking gateway, the IPVgate-20P is interoperable with leading softswitches and SIP servers.

The built-in virtual private network (VPN) IPSec server/client enables the IPVgate-20P PRI VoIP CPE to support secure and easy connection of branch offices to headquarters. Integral in the system are also an ADSL modem, router and firewall.

The IPVgate-20P connects legacy telephones, fax machines and PBX systems to IP-based telephony networks. As a scalable, carrier-grade unit, IPVgate-20P offers unprecedented voice quality and user-friendly configuration interface.

The CPE is designed to be the most efficient voice and data solution for businesses that want to use their existing digital PBX and to empower it with VoIP access service.

IPVgate-20P comprises two E1/T1 PRI (RJ-45) interfaces. One interface is connected to the PBX and the other one to the PSTN as a backup (if required by the end-user). The unit allows up to 30 concurrent VoIP or PSTN calls.

A call is routed to the PSTN backup when power failure occurs or if the IP network is not functioning/responding. During regular operation, IPVgate-20P synchronizes the clock between the unit and the PSTN. This clock synchronization is required for the continued operation of the PBX.

Branch offices can be easily and securely connected to headquarters using the built-in VPN IPSec server/client.

Utilizing a 3DES encryption algorithm and up to 10 tunnels per device, IPVgate-20P creates transparent connectivity of the enterprise LANs into a single virtual WAN.

The PRI VoIP CPE is compatible with most IDSN PBXs, generating Q.931 signaling and providing supplementary services such as Time, DDI (Direct Dialing Inward), MSN (Multiple Subscriber Numbering), CLIR (Caller-ID) Restriction, CLIP (Caller-ID Presentation), and AOC (Advice of Charge).

The AOC service enables organizations and vertical markets such as hotels and hospitals to provide billing information to customers while using their existing PBXs.

An additional dual-purpose Sync/Backup PRI interface allows cascading units and clock synchronization, which is essential for qualitative PBX operation.

A PRI backup line to the telecommunication provider switches all phone calls to regular telephony via the PSTN in the event of SIP connection failure.

When a central SIP server fails to respond, IPVgate-20P accesses the operator or enterprise DNS server to resolve the IP address of the VoIP trunking gateway or another end-point device.

The IPVgate-20A is available with an ADSL modem, which provides ADSL connectivity and line monitoring as well as automatic re-routing to a backup line upon connectivity failure.
