E3 is the European standard for high speed digital transmission, operating at 34.368 Mbps (referred to as 34 Mbps) and containing 16 E1 lines. T3 is the North American standard for DS-3 (digital signal level 3), operating at a data rate of 44.736 Mbps (commonly referred to as 45 Mbps), or the equivalent of 28 T1 lines.
